 Year-to-Date Summary

There have been 19,891 accepted offers and 18,231 closed sales in 2013, up 16.3% from 17,105 pending’s and 18.4% from 15,402 closed sales in the same period last year. The 26,850 new listings so far this year represent a 10.7% increase from the 24,262 entered the first eight months of last year.

Average and Median Sale Prices

The average sales price so far this year is $309,200, up 14.1% from the same period in 2012...

Active Military buys home while in Iraq

One of my greatest successes this year!  I got a call from Iraq earlier this year from a soldier stationed there who wanted to purchase a property to come home to.  His wife was then living in Kansas where he was prior to being sent to Iraq to fight for our freedom.  This soldier and his wife are expecting their first child in a few months and the only thing on his mind was providing a home for his young family here in Oregon.  After many, many conversations and emails were able to get this V...

Why aren't more Veterans buying homes?

Yesterday, while doing a walk thru with my buyers, a Veteran and a 1st time buyer:  I thought why are not more people doing this? 

My buyers got a super nice property in an excellent neighborhood for just a screaming deal and they did it with $0 down, $0 closing using a 100% Federal VA loan and we got the seller to pay for all their closing costs.  The only thing my buyers are paying for is their home inspection approx. $350-425.  depending on the home size.

It is so easy...I would be happy...

David Waite David Waite has lived in the Portland Metro Area for over 23 years with his wife, Mary and his 3 daughters (Colleen, Maggie & Katie).
